Executive Director

Cassie Kimberlin

Executive Director - cassie@fredhab.org
With strong ties to volunteer coordination and grant writing, Cassie Kimberlin provides intuitive leadership to our team as our Executive Director. She holds a BA and a CRFE. No moss grows on this rolling stone, most recently she has taken on courses with a community partner Neighborworks, relating to housing. Cassie has spent seven years serving at Habitat with a great amount of zest and vigor to enact positive change in the community. One of the most impactful things for her working at Habitat is getting to see the long-term impact of having an affordable home. Past buyers go on to graduate from school and grow in their careers, so we get to be a small part of why they are able to do good in the community. One thing we should know of Cassie (in her own words): I'm a huge Washington Nationals fan! It is not uncommon for staff to hear an old ball game be played from a podcast emitting from our leader’s office. She’s also the person you will want on your team in any baseball trivia game.

ReStore

Robert Schwartz

Interim ReStore Manager - robert.schwartz@fredrestore.org
With strong dedication, Robert supports our affiliate by assisting and carrying out the management process. It is not uncommon for team members to notice Robert organizing and planning in the store with enthusiasm. Prior to coming aboard Habitat, where he has been for almost seven years now, he enjoys working hard with his team and finishing his tasks on time. We are very content to have such a genuine and humble person. Robert is moved by witnessing families being able to own homes and have comfort with their beloved ones. One thing that you should definitely know about Robert is that he is a great chef and enjoys cooking during his free time. Feel free to ask him for some recipes!!

Steve Cox

Donation Coordinator - steve@fredhab.org
Steve supports our affiliate by taking on the enormous task of routing and scheduling donations, pickups and deliveries for our ReStore. Prior to joining Habitat five and a half years ago, Steve’s experience ranged from being a truck driver and equipment operator to being in construction. We are happy to have his bright, genuine smile, and hearty laughter working with our donors. Steve has a deep love of nature. One of the most impactful things in working at Habitat for Steve, is keeping things out of the landfills. He gets to do just that by coordinating donations for Habitat. One thing you should know about Steve, he LOVES kayaking. It is not unusual for staff to see a kayak loaded in his pickup any given day of the summer. And fall. And Spring.

Finance

Julie Lubeshkoff

Director of Finance - julie@fredhab.org
Julie supports our affiliate by leading the Finance department and all things budget. It is not uncommon for team members to observe Julie working late nights in pursuit of the most complete finance reports of all time or digging in to the various requirements for a grant. Prior to coming aboard with Habitat almost seven years ago, Julie was part owner in a construction business and had prior bookkeeping experience. As GMU Patriot, Julie earned a degree in financial management and has had previous administrative experience to boot. Her vision and direction in finance has allowed our affiliate to engage in many home builds. The most impactful thing about working at Habitat for Julie, is having a purpose. Something we should know about Julie is that she enjoys spending time with her family, doing genealogy research, gardening, anything horse related and horse showing.

Construction

Emily Berg

Construction Program Manager - emily.berg@fredhab.org
If you could capture atomic energy in one consistent form, you would have Emily Berg. Emily joined our team in 2020 and supports the Construction department as the Construction Program Manager. Armed with a B.S. in Administration of Justice; A.A.S. Construction Management Technology (in progress); Virginia Contractor's License; 15 years paralegal experience in real estate and contract law; 10 years experience renovating homes for re-sale; 6 years experience owning and operating a residential construction company, she juggles the impossible and makes it look easy. The most impactful part of being at Habitat for Emily is meeting and getting to know the amazing individuals in the community and helping families find well-constructed and affordable housing. One thing we should know about Emily is that she is a huge animal lover and urges everyone to adopt from the local shelter whenever possible. Emily adopts older dogs and allows them to live out their lives in dignity, safety, and love.

Homebuyer Services

Patty McGee

Director of Homebuyer Services - patty@fredhab.org
Patty takes on the charge of working with the Homebuyers from the beginning of selection to the dedication of a home. She leads the Homebuyer Services team in building a transparent and successful program for all homebuyers. Patty comes to our affiliate with a Bachelors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from RUW and long-standing program management experience from the contracting world. Go Highlanders! She started as an Americorps Intern in 2015, and later took the position that she retains currently. We love our Americorps Interns for sure. The most impactful thing at Habitat for Patty, is knowing firsthand how much success the homebuyers have obtained from where they start in the program to the dedication of their home. It is amazing, humbling and inspiring to see the human capacity for positive change up close. One thing you should know about Patty, she loves all things in the service for others, whether it is volunteering or church related, for her friends or family, she loves to serve the community.
